History of CUEA
The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) was established in 1984 by the Association of the Religious in East Africa (AREA). It was originally a constituent college of the University of Nairobi, before becoming an autonomous institution in 1992. Located in Nairobi, Kenya, CUEA has grown to become a leading institution in higher education in the region, providing quality education rooted in Catholic values and aiming to meet the educational needs of the region through a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
Milestone
In 2024, CUEA celebrates its 40th anniversary with a significant milestone of expanding its global engagement through innovative educational programs and international partnerships. The university has hosted numerous conferences and workshops, contributing to academic and professional development in various fields, including a prominent AI workshop and a conference on education and innovation.
