Biography

Dr. Celestine Ndanu brings a rich blend of experience in education sector. Ndanu has over 30 years of senior level experience of managing government and private education programmes. She holds a PhD from The Catholic University of Eastern Africa where she specialized in Curriculum Studies and Instruction and a Master’s degree in the same field. She specialized in Kiswahili and CRE in her Bachelor’s Degree from the same institution. She has a higher diploma in Education Management from Kenya Education Management Institute. She has been a contracted professional for Kenya National Examination Council since 1998.  Ndanu is a panelist for Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development CBC Teacher Education Programme as well as Early Childhood Education. She is a Curriculum Consultant for Lan-X Africa education programmes and CBE International as an expert in creating awareness to education stakeholders on Competence Based Education. Moreover, Dr. Ndanu is a consultant for World Food Programme (Somalia) for developing school feeding programmes. She served as a Dean of Curriculum in Aberdare Teachers’ College and as a Deputy Head teacher in several schools in Kenya. She is the Faculty of education representative in University Pastoral Council since 2021.  Dr. Ndanu is a Board member for St. Mulumba Hospital Thika. She is currently the Head of Undergraduate Studies in Education department under which she also Coordinates Early Childhood Education and part time programmes. Ndanu has acted in different capacities at the university among them HOD Postgraduate Studies and Dean (of The) Faculty of Education. Dr. Ndanu is also a researcher who has published many journals.
