Biography
Dr. Wambiya holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Education in the area of Research and Evaluation from The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), a Master Degree in Assessment and Evaluation from Manchester University, UK and another Master of Arts in Population studies from the University of Ghana, Legon. He also holds a Bachelors Degree in Education from the University of Nairobi. He has sixteen years work experience in the Ministry of Education in Kenya as a classroom teacher, teacher trainer and a curriculum developer. He worked with the International Labour Organization (ILO) as an education and Training specialist for nine years. He has twelve years’ experience of university teaching. Dr. Wambiya has served as a Coordinator for Academic Programmes Development at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Kenya. He also served as the Director for Post Graduate Studies for four years at Mwenge Catholic University (MWECAU), Tanzania. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Education in CUEA and Coordinator of Teaching Practice. As a result of this experience, Dr. Wambiya has a long list of skills including but not restricted to: Teaching, programme design, assessments, teacher training, proposal writing and research, budgeting, fund raising, Monitoring and evaluation, e learning and service learning. Dr. Wambiya has widely travelled and works very comfortably in a multicultural environment. He is widely published on education in various journals and has done wide writing that is unpublished. Dr. Wambiya has conducted various consultancies with International Non-Governmental Organizations in Kenya and beyond focusing on research, education and child protection.
