Bernard Ndonga

Biography

Bernard Ndonga is a Senior Lecturer (Sociology-Research Methods, Science and Technology) in the Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Kenya. He has taught at University for over 25 years having started his teaching career as an Assistant Lecturer at Egerton University in the early 1990s. He joined CUEA in 1996 as a lecturer and has served as Deputy HOD, Social Work Coordinator and the Head of the Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and is currently acting Head of the Department of Social Sciences and Development Studies.

He has gone through several professional training workshops including Teaching and learning in Higher Educational Institutions, setting and marking examinations at University Level, advanced level training in Policy-oriented research with PASGR, and has a long history of training and conducting research at the University. He has engaged together with colleagues in competitive proposal writing for consultancy work which includes among others; as Principle researcher for a research project on poverty reduction strategies (applied) funded by The Commission for Higher Education (formerly CHE now current Commission for University Education-CUE), and published a project report also funded by the CHE.

He has supervised both undergraduate and several postgraduate students’ theses to completion and published papers in refereed journals which include;

Article: Social Media Influence on Voter Behaviour in Presidential Elections in Kitisuru Ward, Nairobi Kenya.

He is also a peer reviewer for the International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy (IJSSP).

He is currently writing a book on Research Methodology
