Biography

Rev. Dr. Paul Mathenge is the Director of the School of Graduate Studies, the Manager of the CUEA  Innovation Hub and a lecturer at the School of Business and Economics. He is a diocesan priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Nyeri and holds a doctorate in Business Administration and Management – Entrepreneurship Studies. He is an Active member of Doctoral Association of Eastern Africa. He has a strong entrepreneurial background that promotes service learning at various level, vast experience in supporting startups, youth enterprises, innovation and innovational entrepreneurship. His research areas are microenterprises and faith-based enterprises, agripreneurs, and social entrepreneurship. As a director, he has positioned the Directorate of Graduate Studies as a facilitator of academic and administrative activities of CUEA’s postgraduate students since the university prioritizes excellence and integrity in postgraduate research and training, organization of conferences, symposia, workshops, seminars, roundtable discussions, public lectures, timely dissemination of research findings and publishing. Previously, he has served as a Head of Department, Coordinator for Partnership & Fundraising and the Coordinator of Academic Activities at CUEA. As a lecturer he has taught and continues to teach business classes on entrepreneurship as well as research methodology, and supervised numerous Masters and Doctoral Thesis while also mentoring students in different areas. As the manager of the CUEA Innovation Hub he provides leadership, direction for planning, implementation, and management of the programs, as well as, supports the university’s systems of innovation to ensure efficient and effective functioning. He has driven a collaboration with the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) leading to the evaluation of the innovation readiness of the university and participation in multiple KeNIA conferences, trainings and activities. He is also a lecturer of Administration and Management at Christ the King Seminary for over 13 years. Rev. Dr. Mathenge has consulted for various organizations including the restructuring strategy for Mater Misericordia Hospital and others in areas of administration, sustainability, management, policies and procedures, development and leadership. He objectively strives to create and provide ethical entrepreneurial engagement in academic leadership, Church-based mentorship in community and small business development through teaching and applied research.
