Research Interests: Dr. Stephen Maina Gitahi holds a B.Ed. (Science) degree from Mt. Kenya University (MKU), as well as an MSc and PhD in Biotechnology from Kenyatta University (KU). With over six years of teaching and research experience, he has established a strong academic presence, evidenced by over 15 publications in international peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Gitahi’s research interests lie in Medical Biotechnology, particularly in the bioscreening of medicinal plant extracts for their effects on pyrexia, nociception, inflammation, diabetes, oxidative stress, and cancer. Additionally, he explores the potential role of herbal extracts in controlling storage pests and addressing biotic constraints in food production.
