IRSK Youth Career & Mentorship Forum

International Relations Society of Kenya (IRSK) in partnership with IRSAK & Konrad Adenauer Stiftung

The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) was honoured to host the IRSK Youth Career & Mentorship Forum on March 13, 2026. The forum brought together young leaders, diplomats, ambassadors, and scholars to explore the role of youth in shaping diplomacy and international relations.

Organized by the International Relations Society of Kenya (IRSK) in partnership with the International Relations Students' Association of Kenya (IRSAK) and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, the event served as a powerful platform for mentorship, career guidance, and intellectual engagement.

The forum featured keynote addresses from distinguished diplomats and thought leaders. H.E. Amb. Erastus Mwencha, Former Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, delivered a powerful keynote on the evolving role of youth in Africa's diplomatic landscape. H.E. Amb. Witiaksono Adji, the Ambassador of Indonesia to Kenya, shared insights on South-South cooperation and the importance of youth engagement in multilateral diplomacy.

The event featured interactive panel discussions where seasoned diplomats, academics, and policy practitioners engaged directly with students and young professionals. Topics ranged from career pathways in international organizations to the practical challenges of diplomacy in an increasingly complex geopolitical environment. Panellists emphasized the importance of mentorship, cross-cultural understanding, and continuous learning.
