Compliance Notice: CAT Marks & Coursework Required for Examination Eligibility

Office of the Academic Registrar — 17th July 2026

This is to notify all students of the Senate Resolution Min. 14/22nd May 2026: January–April 2026 Examination Results Approval, which requires the compulsory entry of Continuous Assessment Test (CAT) and coursework grades into the university portal before sitting for final examinations.

Clause 1.13.5.4 of the Students' Handbook: "Students can only sit for final examinations after sitting for the CAT and completing the coursework." This clause will be enforced with immediate effect.

Accordingly:

Any student without a CAT mark will not be able to generate an Examination Card, and their names will be missing from the official examinations attendance register.

Students are advised to check their Examination Cards promptly to confirm eligibility to sit for exams.

Students missing CAT marks must liaise directly with their respective lecturers and HODs for resolution. All escalations on missing CAT marks are to be made to HoDs & Deans of Faculties and not with the Registrar's Office.

No student will be allowed to sit for any examination if their name is missing from the examinations attendance sheet.

All students are therefore reminded to ensure that their CAT marks are duly captured in the portal to avoid disqualification from the final examinations.
