CUEA Board of Trustees Chair Engages University Management
The Chair of the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) Board of Trustees, Most Rev. Anthony Muheria, Archbishop of Nyeri, Kenya visited the University on Wednesday, 16th September 2026, where he met with the management team led by the new Rector and Vice-Chancellor, Very Rev. Prof. Elias Opongo, SJ.
During the meeting, Archbishop Muheria encouraged the University management to work together as one team, emphasising the importance of collaboration and shared responsibility in advancing CUEA's mission, purposes and strategic goals.
The engagement marked his first meeting with the University management since the 21st AMECEA Plenary in July, where Archbishop Muheria chaired the organising committee and several significant decisions concerning the future of the Catholic higher education community in Eastern Africa were undertaken.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to strengthen alignment between the University's leadership and its broader Catholic institutional mission as CUEA begins a new chapter under its new Vice-Chancellor.
