The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) welcomed Sir Paul J. Foster, KStJH, President of the Global Esports Federation, on Wednesday, 9th September 2026, for an engaging session with students at the Lang'ata Campus.
The discussion focused on “The Future of Esports: Youth Opportunity, Digital Skills and Kenya's Role in the Global Esports Space.”
Sir Paul shared insights on the growing opportunities within the esports industry and the importance of equipping young people with the digital skills, creativity and entrepreneurial mindset needed to participate in the rapidly evolving global digital economy.
CUEA's contribution to Kenya's esports landscape was also evident, with the University having nurtured leading esports talent, including Sylvia Gathoni, popularly known as Queen Arrow, who was among those present during the engagement.
The visit was hosted by the Dean of Students Office, in partnership with the Catholic University of Eastern Africa Student Organisation (CUEASO), led by Mr. Brian Kweyu.
The engagement reinforces CUEA's commitment to creating opportunities for students to explore emerging fields, develop relevant digital competencies and position themselves for the future of work.
