CUEA Conducts Internal Quality Audit Across 24 Departments

The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), through its Directorate of Quality Assurance (DQA), conducted an Internal Quality Audit from September 21 to 25, 2026, as part of the University’s commitment to continuous improvement, quality enhancement, and compliance with established quality management and regulatory standards.
The audit was conducted in line with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System standard, providing an opportunity to assess the implementation and effectiveness of quality management processes across the University’s academic and administrative divisions.
A total of 24 departments were audited across the University’s two campuses, comprising 14 departments at Lang’ata Campus and 10 at AMECEA Gaba Campus. The exercise involved reviewing processes, documentation, records, policy implementation, procedures, and the effectiveness of existing controls and quality management practices.
Beyond assessing compliance, the audit provided an opportunity to identify departmental strengths, areas for improvement, gaps, and opportunities for corrective and preventive action. It also encouraged departments to evaluate their processes and strengthen their contribution to the University’s overall quality objectives.
The exercise reaffirmed the Directorate of Quality Assurance’s role in promoting a culture of quality, accountability, evidence-based decision-making, and continuous improvement across the University.
The Directorate acknowledges the support and facilitation provided by University Management throughout the audit. It also commends the participating departments, staff members, and Internal Quality Auditors for their commitment and dedication, which contributed to the successful completion of the exercise across both campuses.
The audit findings will inform subsequent corrective actions, improvement initiatives, and management review processes. These efforts are expected to contribute to the University’s continued pursuit of operational effectiveness, quality service delivery, and compliance with established standards.
Through the audit, CUEA continues to strengthen its quality management processes and reinforce institutional accountability as part of its broader commitment to continuous improvement.
