CUEA Gaba Religious Community Attends National Prayer Day at Subukia

By Rev. Fr. Danstan Epalat, CUEA Gaba Campus Chaplain

On Thursday, 1st October 2026, members of the CUEA Gaba Campus Religious Community joined the faithful from across the country for the National Prayer Day at the Subukia Shrine in Nakuru County.

The visit gave the religious community a significant opportunity to come together in prayer, reflection and thanksgiving, while joining the wider Catholic faithful in seeking God’s guidance and blessings for the nation. This event brought together clergy, religious men and women, students, families and other pilgrims, all gathered in a spirit of faith and unity.

For the Gaba community, the pilgrimage was also a chance to strengthen communal bonds and deepen spiritual commitment. Members took active part in the prayers and celebrations, entrusting to God the University community, the Church, the nation and the many intentions of the faithful.

Subukia Shrine, a significant Marian pilgrimage centre, offered a serene setting for prayer and spiritual renewal. Members stepped away from their daily academic and pastoral responsibilities to dedicate time to personal prayer, communal reflection and thanksgiving.

The National Prayer Day also reminded participants of the role of prayer in fostering peace, unity, hope and responsible leadership in society. The pilgrimage helped in renewing faith and building greater commitment to continue promoting prayer, unity, service and Christian witness within the Gaba Campus community and beyond.
