By Henry Muchangi
The Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) on Friday, September 18, 2026, hosted 700 Form Four students from Cardinal Otunga Mosocho Boys High School, Kisii for a campus tour and careers guidance session. The students were received by Mr. Henry Muchangi Muriuki from the Student Recruitment Office and guided around the University by CUEA student volunteers. The tour provided an opportunity for the visitors to experience the University's learning environment and explore key facilities, including the auditorium, library, lecture halls, sports facilities and laboratories. The students later gathered at Missio Hall for a careers talk led by Dr. Pamela Enkairo, in charge of the Careers Office, and Mr. Samuel Wakanyua, the Dean of Students. The session focused on university programmes, admission requirements, career pathways and the transition from secondary school to university. It also offered students an opportunity to ask questions and gain practical insights as they prepare for their forthcoming KCSE examinations. The visiting students expressed appreciation for the opportunity to experience university life firsthand, noting the value of the campus exposure, career guidance and mentorship. Campus visits form part of CUEA's efforts to help prospective students experience CUEA by engaging directly with the University's academic environment, programmes, students and staff. Such engagements also provide opportunities for the University to strengthen relationships with schools, enhance visibility and build meaningful partnerships while supporting prospective students in making informed decisions about their higher education and career pathways. The visit further provided an opportunity for CUEA students and staff to interact with and inspire secondary school students to pursue higher academic and career aspirations.
