The African Centre of Excellence in Theology and Canon Law (ACETCL) is an initiative of Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in collaboration with Hekima University College (HUC). Our goal is to promote African theological voices in global church discussions.

We offer research fellowships and doctoral scholarships to assist experienced and new scholars, especially women theologians. Our growing network of African theologians and canonists works together to publish research and share unique African viewpoints in Church dialogue.

Scholars wishing to research in English can enroll at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA), while those preferring French will join a Catholic Faculty of Theology in a French-speaking region.
