Presenter: Dr. Lydia Ouma Radoli-Associate Dean School of Communication Daystar University

The session begun by the presentation of the presenter by Secretary COE Committee Rev. Dr. Erick Gichomo at 9:30 pm after an opening prayer, followed by the Presenter’s brief additional introduction and appreciation of the invite.

The Interdisciplinary was attended by 12 Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Scholarship Holders and invited guests including Dean of the Faculty of Theology and Some Lecturers from the same faculty, that is, Departments of Liturgy, Pastoral, and Spirituality respectively. As appoint of introduction the presenter alluded that the Church through the Catholic University of Eastern Africa needs to stress the study of AI and Ethics as a call for religious.

The presenter noted the following areas as of great importance giving relevant examples;
1. Pertinent questions on AI in Education, stressing that we should critically engage with AI technologies in ways that reflect local cultural and global contexts.
2. Role of AI in Education of which ethics, equity and preservation of critical thinking skills remained outstanding.
3. Stages of shifts in AI for Education and Innovation, from mid-2000 to current content i.e., chat books, robots, synthesis, etc.
4. AI as a human creation and stewardship, giving an example of the Japanese Shu-Ha-Ri.
5. Scriptural interpretation of AI in Education, referencing 1 Thessalonians 5:21 for discernment on application.
6. Perspectives of AI in Education (curriculum development, technical competence and ethical consideration).
7. The future gaze on the AI where she acknowledged that as technology advances, education sector must enter also in a new era of digital dissemination of information and fusion of multiple formats,

As a point of conclusion after few moments of interactions, the presenter proposed for more engagements in view of this important tool of research. The session was successfully brought to the close preceded by Vote of Thanks from Fr. Kinuthia and final blessing from Fr. Olesserian both Doctoral Scholarship Holder at 12:15 PM with shared Lunch after.
