Course Overview
The ACCA qualification is a globally recognized credential for professional accountants, providing a solid foundation for a successful career in accounting and finance. Completing the ACCA qualification enables individuals to work in any finance-related industry worldwide without restrictions, creating numerous opportunities. This program offers business-relevant qualifications for those pursuing careers in accountancy, finance, business, leadership, and management. More people qualify with ACCA than any other international accountancy body due to its global reach, world-class reputation, and flexibility. The ACCA Qualification is divided into three parts, leading to exams and membership.
Requirements to be Registered as an ACCA Student
To register, you need the following:
- National ID card
- Educational documents such as KCSE result slip (minimum C+ mean grade in KCSE with C in English and Math)
- If you have done GCSE, your O level certificate with a pass in English and Math, and your A level certificate with 2 principal passes
- Degree transcripts and certificates (if applicable)
- Other certificates or diplomas as approved by ACCA
Curriculum Road Map
Applied Knowledge The Applied Knowledge exams provide students with a broad introduction to finance and essential accounting techniques. These exams are:
- Business and Technology (BT)
- Financial Accounting (FA)
- Management Accounting (MA)
Applied Skills The Applied Skills exams build on existing knowledge and develop strong, practical finance skills required for future strategic professional accountants in any sector. These exams are:
- Corporate and Business Law (LW)
- Taxation (TX)
- Financial Reporting (FR)
- Performance Management (PM)
- Financial Management (FM)
- Audit and Assurance (AA)
Strategic Professional The Strategic Professional exams prepare students for leadership positions, developing strategic vision with a blend of technical, ethical, and professional skills. Students must complete both Essentials exams and choose two Options.

- Strategic Business Reporting (SBR)
- Strategic Business Leader (SBL)
Options
- Advanced Financial Management (AFM)
- Advanced Audit and Assurance (AAA)
- Advanced Taxation (ATX)
- Advanced Performance Management (APM)
Ethics and Professional Skills Module
Students must complete the Ethics and Professional Skills module, developing a complete range of skills needed by employers. This module introduces students to advanced ethical and professional skills and realistic business situations, enhancing workplace credibility.
- Note: Students are responsible for registering with ACCA and paying renewal and examination fees directly to ACCA. Registration can be done through the ACCA office in Kenya or ACCA global office in the UK. Visit the ACCA website for further information on registration and examination booking.
Important Notice
The Catholic University of Eastern Africa’s Bachelor of Commerce Finance and Bachelor of Commerce Accounting programs are ACCA Accredited. Our students are exempted from up to eight units in ACCA upon successful completion of the programs.

- Full-Time Course: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
- Part-Time Course: 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M.

CUEA Course Application
All courses are applied online through CUEA ONLINE SELF SERVICE. Follow these steps:
- Click “Create Account” to create your online account.
- Login with your registered email and set password.
- Click on “New Application” and provide the required information and documents as prompted.
- Pay the application fee for your application to be processed.
- To track your application status, click on “My Applications”.
Payment Details
MPESA Payment:
- After application, you will be redirected to a fee payment page.
- Select “pay now,” enter your phone number, and click the pay button.
- You will receive an MPESA prompt to enter your pin.
- On successful payment, enter the MPESA confirmation code and click the complete button.
To pay later via MPESA, go to your applications, click on the pay link, and follow the above steps.
