COL (RTD) FR. DR. BENJAMIN K. MASWILI, AJ, a retired Kenya Defence Forces Officer, was born on January 25th, 1964, in Makueni County, Kaiti Sub-County, Kilala Location, Kaumoni-Sub Location. He attended Kaumoni Boys Secondary School from 1979 to 1982 before pursuing theological studies at Apostles of Jesus Major Seminary. Ordained as a priest on July 24th, 1993, he taught Christian Religious Education at St. Joseph Minor Seminary in Aboke, Lira Diocese, Uganda, from 1994 to 1996.
In 1997, Maswili joined the Kenya Defence Forces, receiving military basic training and serving diligently. From 2016 to 2024, he held dual roles as the Roman Catholic Principal Chaplain and Apostolic Administrator of the Military Ordinariate of Kenya, showcasing his leadership in both spiritual guidance and administrative oversight within the military.
